Adding a room type
Before creating the rooms, you need to determine the types of rooms in your hotel. In any hotel rooms are divided into certain categories (Deluxe, Standard, Single, etc.).
Please pay particular attention to the room types creation, as in the future, when booking, the type of room will be the main selection criterion on your website, or in any other booking system.
In order to create room types, go to the Hotels section in the main menu on the left, and select the Rooms menu item.
When you first visit this menu item, you will see the room types you added during your registration. If you want to add more room types, click +Add in the bottom of the screen. There are several sections to fill in: General Info, Beds, Price information and Settings. Let's take a closer look.
Important! Remember that fields marked with a * are required.
Name - a name of the room type, for example "Suite".
Internal name will be visible only to employees, guests will not see it.
International name - here must be the name corresponding to the international standards, if room types in your hotel are somehow different.
Description - here specify the information about the type of rooms which guests will be able to see.
Color - this color will be used in the Rooms menu. For your convenience choose different colors for different types of rooms.
Room space - the area of the room in square meters. If the rooms are of different sizes, skip this field.
Facilities - select the services and facilities available in this type of room from the drop-down list.
Window View - select which view is available in this room type.
Smoking allowed? - Set the switch to "Yes" or "No". If smoking is allowed in some rooms, but in others is not, it can be specified additionally, when creating the rooms themselves.
If you have a hostel, then be sure to set a switch to "Yes". If not, you need to fill in the number of main and additional beds in the rooms of this type.
Number of beds - this is the number of places in the room, not including extra beds.
Additional beds - these are the beds, besides the main ones, which you can provide at the request of the guests.
Here you can indicate whether you will have different prices for children and extra places for adults in the room.
In the Included? field indicate whether you want this room type to be available for booking by customers and reservation systems.
Important! As soon as you fill in all the fields, do not forget to save the changes!
After you have saved the general information, two new tabs will open for editing: Photo and Tasks.
In the Photo tab you can upload photos of this room type. To upload a photo, click the Browse button and select the desired photo from the hard drive. Here you can also specify whether this photo will be the main one (Default? field) and Priority of the show. This is the order of the photo in the list of photographs. The bigger the number, the higher the photo will be displayed.
Important! Do not forget to save the changes after adding photos!
In the Tasks tab you can also indicate what actions must be taken before check-in, during the stay and after the guest's check-out. For example, if you need to clean the room before guests move in, select the "room cleaning" task in the On check in field. Remember that tasks are created separately in the program settings. More details about the tasks you can read here. If at the moment you have not created tasks, you can always do this later, and then add them to this room type by editing.
If you have filled all the fields, the room type is created and you can save the changes and exit the edit window.
If you have several different room types, then go back to Hotels/Rooms and click on + New room type at the top of the screen.
Deletion and editing
If you want to edit an existing room type or delete it, then click on the appropriate buttons Edit or Delete, while in the desired room type.
